The Balatonfüred Yacht Club (BYC), one of the oldest sport clubs in Europe, has been around since 1867. Since its inception the club has heavily focused on racing and raising the next generation of competitive sailors; the roster of its junior division has been growing ever since and now possesses a headcount of 70 youngsters. The year 2011 was the seventeenth in a row when the club earned the most successful racing organization title in the Hungarian sailing circuit. Plus, more than half of all the points earned go regularly to BYC youth division. Just recently the Wossala-Németh-Vezér trio
won a silver medal on the Soling Masters World Championship after tying in points earned with the first and third place finishers. The current support of the Docler group helps the BYC organizing two high-niveau competitions, and one of them, the Docler Holding Grand Cup – László Kálmán Tolnay Memorial Race is now named after its major sponsor. The club also puts Docler’s donations to good use by nurturing its next generation of competitive sailors and by purchasing new equipment.
